ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Kathy Mulhall and I am the owner of Crafty Days and Nights, Inc. and Sunflower Shanty. 
I am a wife and mother to three kids and a dog. I have been scrapbooking and crafting for a very long time. I have also been organizing and running scrapbooking weekend retreats for years. It has been a dream of mine to open up a scrapbooking/crafting weekend retreat place. I approached my husband with a business plan and the rest is history!
I have tried out a lot of scrapbooking weekend retreat places. I took the positives and negatives and designed Crafty Days and Nights and Sunflower Shanty around them both. I think I'm pretty close to having the best scrapbooking/crafting weekend retreat place out there!
I know it's hard to try a new place! All I ask is that you give me a try! I will guarantee you that you won't be disappointed! You'll be asking yourself why you didn't try us sooner!

THE MAKING OF
Why Ottawa? Well after carefully considering different towns/cities/villages, my heart kept coming back to Ottawa. I love the small town feel, the quiet and safe neighborhoods, and the charming downtown area.
We opened our doors in October of 2010, but I can tell you it was a lot of hard work from family and friends during the summer of 2010 to get those doors opened!
The home we purchased had wallpaper on the walls of every room except for two! I can't even count how many hours it took to strip all that wallpaper. My kids have made me promise that I will never buy a house again that has wallpaper on the walls!
I am so proud of the improvements we made to the house. I truly want it to be your home away from home! I cannot wait to share Crafty Days and Nights and Sunflower Shanty with you!

The house wouldn't be ready if it wasn't for my best friend Christa! I can't thank her enough! She put in hours and hours of work at Sunflower Shanty, some of which were not her favorite! I don't think she'll ever strip wallpaper again! Christa, I have two words for you -- master bedroom!
This became mine and Christa's favorite tool. We couldn't have put all that furniture together without it! Well, we could have, but it would have taken us a long, long time! Thanks to John for letting us use it.

Thanks to my in-laws, Mike and Barb, for putting in hours and hours of landscape work! You helped to make the landscape look amazing!
